How To Quit Your Job and Travel The World
In today’s episode, we will speak to my new friend Mr. Nomad Numbers from the website Nomad Numbers.
Mr. Nomad Numbers (French) and his wife Mrs. Nomad Numbers (US) are world travelers who left their corporate jobs in 2018 to pursue their new lifestyle of slow traveling.

Mr. Nomad Numbers will share their story with us: How they left their safe and well-paid corporate jobs to pursue the lifestyle they are passionate about: Traveling the world full time, live their best life, and all without breaking the bank. (And no it is not only about sipping Piña Coladas on the beach)

This episode is for you if a nomadic lifestyle (when it will be possible again 😅) is something you dream about but do not know where to start or if you are curious to hear about how regular people live alternative lifestyles pursuing their passions.
Key Takeaways:
- Traveling for long periods of time may not be as expensive as you may think. Living in some cities may even be cheaper than you would think at first (Mexico City vs. Montreal).
-
The difference with digital nomadism (like Sharon): Working remotely and living in a cheaper country so you can save good amounts of money. Mr. and Mrs. Nomad Numbers chose the financial freedom route (FIRE – Financial Independent, Retire Early): They do not have to work, it is less stressful and they focus solely on their passion projects.
-
Strategy to financial independence: Keeping expenses low (focus on buying what matters to you), and investing in the stock markets and real estate.
-
Lower-income? Take part-time jobs or seasonal jobs so you can work some months in your country, save up money and then go the rest of the year to a lower-cost country (or city) to do what you want. It’s all about what you value in your life and taking opportunities.
-
Is slow travel for everyone? Slow travel is the result of a process: You will need to let go of the constraints and limitations and be intentional about how you want to live. You need to figure out what you want and for inspiration go check out the interviews on their website 😀!
Who is Mr. Nomad Numbers?
Mr. Nomad Numbers is a French/American in his 30s who runs www.nomadnumbers.com and who is passionate about slow living and lifestyle design. He and his wife retired from their lucrative corporate career in summer 2018 to start living life on their own term and travel the world full-time. He recently decided to make Taiwan his temporary home until the COVID19 situation worldwide improves to safely resume their worldwide travels with his wife. Mr. NN also developed a travel tool to help like-minded nomads/travelers to stay on top of their expenses so they can spend more time enjoying their journey than massaging spreadsheets. When he isn’t outside exploring, working on the blog, or on the travel tool, he likes to publishing travel snippets on his Youtube channel and Instagram account.
